Can someone explain me what is the relation between sigils and emblems?

I heard that if you won your sigil @ HoH and then use it to purchase GH you will have your cape emblems visible on GH's flags. I did so and there is no emblems.

Question: can you use any character on your account to buy GH to see emblems later OR u need to buy GH only with char who actually won this sigil in HoH?

Because I bought GH with other char and wondering is that the cause I dont see emblems.

That's not true.

Your guild's flag appears on those banners during a match, of course. But that happens for every guild in every match and is not related to where your sigil came from. Sorry.
